#  Bulgarian women in engineering

 A March 9th, 2018 [article](https://www.ft.com/content/e2fdfe6e-0513-11e8-9e12-af73e8db3c71) in the *Financial Times* discussed the high percentage of women in the technology sector in Bulgaria. What I found so interesting is that of the top ten European countries with the largest numbers of women in technology, eight of them are in Eastern Europe. The article directly credits the "Soviet legacy" of women in science and engineering for this outcome.
